Event Description:
It is common knowledge that women have an increased risk of osteoporosis after menopause and an increase in sarcopenia. Despite this risk, what steps can she take to improve her overall vitality? How can the HCP support her as she ages? It turns out that there is a lot we can do to help her. But first we need to understand how to look at bone markers and to expand our testing to include the steroid hormone family and functional blood chemistry. She needs to have more choices than the standard pharmaceutical drugs that are offered now. Key herbs and nutrition to build healthy bones, muscles and connective tissue will be explored during this presentation to help the HCP make the best decision for their patient.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Basic understanding of healthy bones and risk factors for osteoporosis.
2. The role of the steroid hormone family for bone health.
3. Test interpretation related to hormones and bone health.
4. The importance of reducing inflammation, improved microcirculation, and exercise for the post-menopausal female.
