Event Description:

This course will review the basics of essential omega fatty acids, focusing on their benefits for multiple body systems and as an integrative component of optimal health. Participants will also learn about a novel omega-3 measurement kit. 4. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: • Participants will refresh and reinforce knowledge about the concept of "essential" omega fatty acids, the differences between omega-6 fatty acids and omega-3 fatty acids, and gain knowledge about identifying best sources. • Participants will understand and be able to enumerate many benefits to the mind and body of the long chain omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, appreciate potential concerns with their use and how to incorporate them into an overall healthcare management plan. • Participants will learn about a blood test to measure the level of omega-3 fatty acids in red blood cell membranes and how to utilize that information to modify and monitor levels towards supporting the optimal health of multiple body systems.
